How it is made
Every model starts as real elevation data. We take publicly available digital elevation models of the mountain, process the terrain in GIS software, and build the geometry from the actual topography. The Diamond, the Keyhole, and the ledges around them sit where they do in the real world, not where an artist decided they should go.
Longs is the only fourteener in Rocky Mountain National Park and the northernmost in the range. The Diamond, the sheer east face standing above Chasm Lake, is the feature this relief captures best.
The relief is printed in matte PLA and finished by hand, then mounted to a wood base. Choose a single-color finish for a clean, sculptural look, or a multi-color finish with colors mapped to elevation the way a topographic map reads.
